Cadet Grove

Cadet Grove is a historical area in Kyiv, through which a stream with the same name flows (the right tributary of the Lybid River). It has been known since the end of the 18th century as Shulyavskaya Grove, and after the construction of the Vladimir Kyiv Cadet Corps here in 1857 – Cadet Grove. It stretched between Shulyavka, Solomenka and Chokolovka, capturing part of modern Vozdukhoflotsky Avenue and the Pervomaisky residential area. Most of the grove was cut down during the Civil War and eventually built up. The rest is a forest park between Umanskaya Street and the railway. The name Kadetskaya Grove was given in 1994 to a new street in the new residential area of Turetsky Gorodok. The couple has children’s and sports grounds, the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
