The idea of building a temple in honor of St. Spyridon of Trimifuntsky arose during preparations for bringing the relics of the saint to Ukraine back in 2009. The temple was designed with five domes; the dome structures on drums were mounted on the temple ready-made. The technology of manufacturing them on a metal frame with drum lining with expanded polystyrene, with further finishing with special plaster on a mesh, was developed. The frame structure of the building was chosen, followed by cladding with mineral wool slabs and finishing with special systems – mesh plaster. The foundation is a monolithic reinforced concrete slab with outlets for columns. On October 11, 2010, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir, the vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis, Bishop Panteleimon of Vasilkovsky, consecrated the dome crosses for the Church of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt and the construction of the building in Yunost Park was ready to begin. The construction of the church was completed in 2013, and in December pieces of the relics of Spyridon of Trimifuntsky arrived at the temple. Since September 2014, a Sunday school has been operating at the church.
