The “Unity” art object appeared in Kyiv on the Dnieper embankment in August 2019, very close to Rusanovka. This unusual sculpture, which looks best at sunset when the sun’s rays pass through it, symbolizes the feminine and masculine principles. Made of round stainless steel tubes, which are connected to each other using argon welding. Height: 4.5 meters, width – 3.5 meters. The authors of the art object were artists from Dnieper Egor and Nikita Zigura. Their works are held in private collections around the world. In addition to “Unity”, there are other creations of the brothers in Kyiv – they are located in KPI Park.
“This is an eternal movement, an upward movement. When I saw that place, the first thing that came to mind was an upward movement from step to step. A walking man created from beams of energy. These stainless steel rods symbolize the bundles of energy from which the body is created. Where these bundles of energy exist, a personality is created. So, I have a work “Genesis” – a woman consists of horizontal rods, a man consists of vertical ones, and the sculpture “Unity” consists of diagonal rods intersecting each other, and images are created at the place of their intersection,” said Yegor Zigurda.
The area around the “Unity” sculpture has been landscaped: round benches and lighting have been installed, flower beds have been laid out, an area has been organized like an observation deck towards the right bank, where the statue is “Motherland” and Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra.
