Gallery-sacristy “Miraculous Icons of Athos”

What to show to a tourist who visited our city? How to diversify your vacation? In search of answers, it is worth going on a walking tour and strolling through the historical district of Ancient Kyiv. In December 2012, in one of the most mysterious buildings in Kyiv, located on Yaroslavov Val Street, 1, The doors of the Gallery-Sacristy “Miracle-Working Icons of Athos” opened for residents and guests of the capital.
The power of the holy Mount Athos and the aura of the Athonite miraculous icons have a magnetic effect on the guests of the gallery. This is the place where you want to leave all the burdens and anxieties behind the threshold, a place for grace and complete abstraction from the bustle… The gallery-sacristy is not a temple, but here you can always pray, asking for the intercession of the Mother of God and the saints of God.
The miraculous images presented in the Sacristy Gallery were painted in the cell of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, which is currently assigned to the Hilandar Monastery. The exhibition displays twelve icons made by monks on Mount Athos in accordance with all canonical rules, with unceasing prayer and bright thoughts.
A visit to the Gallery is a chance to touch the Athos shrines and pray for family and friends in the center of Kyiv. After all, not everyone has the opportunity to go on a pilgrimage tour, and women are not allowed access to Mount Athos at all.
The doors of the gallery-sacristy are always open for prayer, and even at night, when the bustle of the day and noise recede. Every day, excursions are held in the gallery, during which you can hear the history of each icon and the miracles that one or another miraculous image showed. In the evenings, lectures are held here on various spiritual topics.
All events are held on a charitable basis and everyone, if possible, can make a donation for the development and maintenance of the Gallery.
